Elizabeth Mann c. 1938

Post War years 1945 to 1950

After the war and time in Kidderminster Jack joined touring companies and well... toured. In by 1948 he was in Redditch. But a most important bit in this period is that joining his company to take the lead in 'Jane Eyre' (fresh from RADA - not withstanding being in the WRAF in the War in between) was the very pretty and engaging actress Elizabeth Mann. Jack, smitten, gave up his room with a gas fire in his digs to the young digs-less actress and moved to the attic room complete with broken window and snow flurries blowing in, he froze but their relationship blossomed; the rest as they say is history. They married in December '49 in Bedford.

They joined the Denville Players and went to Jersey where they did several seasons in Rep.
